Een gespecialiseerd multidisciplinair team zorgt vervolgens voor de verzorging van de pasgeborenen in de neonatologieafdeling: neonatologen, kinderartsen, verpleegkundigen, psychologen, een kinderpsychiater, een kinderchirurg, een lactatiekundige, een cardioloog, een neuropediatrisch verpleegkundige, een maatschappelijk werker, fysiotherapeuten, enz.<br \/>Of het nu in de intensieve neonatologieafdeling of in de Koala-afdeling gebeurt, de zorg wordt aangepast aan het gedrag van de baby. Het begrijpen van wat de premature baby tegen ons zegt vereist speciale training voor de zorgverleners.
